Isn’t there enough noise in cyberspace?

A couple of years ago, on my birthday, a friend of mine bought me my own WordPress domain so that I would start writing for someone other than myself. So, obviously, I did the complete opposite. That sweet, inspiring card stayed on my fridge for years. The domain expired. And I just kept telling everyone that I loved writing but I didn’t do anything about it.

Is that something that all aspiring writers do? Or is it just me that’s been so paralysed? It’s not quite self-consciousness or a fear of failure, but perhaps a worry that it’s a waste of time. After all, isn’t there enough noise in cyberspace?

But I suppose now I’m a little older, I feel life slipping by a little. So I’m breathing through my nervousness and adding my tiny voice to the millions out there.

So here we are….

……  ……

(This is what breathing through your nervousness looks like).

I googled “how to write your first blog post” and they all said that I need to tell you what this blog is going to be about. A difficult question because I think that will be figured out over the next few weeks.

I suppose I called it “the realness” because I wanted to write about things that are real for me: a woman in her thirties who likes to observe and analyse friendships, relationships, food, dating, eating, socializing, work, and myself.

Most of all I want to write about these things in a way that’s real; without a façade.

Anyway, welcome dear reader! I hope over time, there is something here that someone (or maybe more than one someone) will enjoy.
